I am Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I am supposed to focus on the advancement of education and research related to environmental information sciences (EIS). This includes some teaching and supplemental student advising.
I work in Ithaca off and on for two- to three-week periods, depending on my schedule in my main job in the Netherlands (see below).
In spring semester 2012 I replaced Steve de Gloria and Bill Fisher teaching CSS/NTRES 6200 Spatial Modelling and Analysis applied to agronomic and environmental systems:
"Theory and practice of applying geo-spatial data for resource inventory and analysis, biophysical process modeling, and land surveys. Emphasizes use and evaluation of spatial analytical methods applied to agronomic and environmental systems and processes. Laboratory section is used to process, analyze, and visualize geo-spatial data of interest to the student, ending in a comprehensive student project."
This was taught partly in intensive blocks in Ithaca and partly at a distance.
