Our research focuses on the intersection of agriculture, the environment, and the new life sciences with the goal of supporting the sustainable and productive management of agroecosystems. We have a diverse faculty whose research programs tackle questions that vary in scale from the molecular to the landscape. The research programs of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences can be broadly classified into the three major program areas of Crop Science, Soil Science, and Environmental Information Science.
