For Prospective Graduate Students

Students in my laboratory study the microbial ecology and diversity of soils using molecular and genomic techniques. Students will learn techniques from microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, and soil science and will become familiar with ecological and evolutionary theory as it pertains to microorganisms and their impacts on the environment.

I accept Ph.D. students through the field of Soils and Crop Sciences and the field of Microbiology. I am also a member of both the Biogeochemistry and Environmental Biocomplexity Program and the Cornell Genomics initiative.

For Undergraduates

Opportunities exist for undergraduate students to participate in ongoing research projects for pay or for independent study credit. Interested students should contact Dr. Buckley about current research opportunities.
