My overall research goal is to understand the nutrient fluxes in watershed as influenced by agroroforestry technologies. Concepts from Nutrient Monitoring model: inputs (mineral fertilizer, organic manure, atmospheric deposition, biological N-fixation, sedimentation) and outputs (harvested products, crop residues, leaching, gaseous losses and erosion) will be utilized to compare nutrient budgets in watershed under agroforestry technologies versus the watershed under traditional farmer practices. The effects of catena positions on key nutrient pools and fluxes under agroforestry systems will be determined.
