greenhouse
gas

slow
deforestation

subsequent
land
degradation

each

the
benchmark
countries.

the
impact
of
different
land
use
practices
on
biodiversity,
including
current
slash
and
burn
practices;
and
determine
patterns
of
land
use
that
best
support
biodiversity
over
and
above
current
practices.

Link
environmental
benefits
to
sustainable
alternatives
to
slash-and-burn
agriculture:
produce
recommendations
of
those
alternatives
to
slash
and
burn
practices
best
suited
to
integrating
environmental
benefit
and
to
select
those
policies,
institutional
frameworks
and
their
implementation
mechanisms
that
facilitate
the
adoption
of
these
recommended
land-use
practices.
