Scientists trained in ASB research methods

Benchmark sites | Establishment of multidisciplinary teams | Development of standard methods, procedures and protocols | Scientists trained in ASB research methods | Outputs and achievements

Training within the benchmark sites emphasised the incorporation of environmental concerns into forest margin agricultural research. On-site training in carbon flux measurements and aboveground biodiversity was provided to local and national collaborators at all benchmark sites and follow-up visits were made. A workshop on greenhouse gas measurement methods was conducted in Indonesia and one on limiting nutrient trials was held in Cameroon. Workshops on below-ground biodiversity were conducted in Peru and Indonesia. In addition, national scientists were trained to work with GIS tools to develop geo-referenced data sets.
