ICRAF
is the convening
centre for
the ASB programme
and houses
the global
coordination
office. In
addition,
ICRAF staff
in Indonesia,
Peru, Thailand,
and the Philippines
conduct and
coordinate
local ASB
research.
ICRAF-Headquarters:
The Director
General of
ICRAF, Dr.
Pedro Sanchez,
serves as
the Chair
of the Global
Steering Group
for ASB. Dr.
Anne-Marie
Izac, the
Director of
Research,
manages the
scientific
implementation
of the ASB
regional programmes.
The Financial
and Administrative
Division of
(FIN-AD) oversees
the receipt
and disbursement
of funds for
the ASB consortium
as authorised
by the Global
Coordinator.
Global
Steering Group:
Responsible
for executive
decisions
such as budget
allocations,
consortium
members, work
plans for
the consortium
members and
appointment
of the Global
Coordinator.
The group
is composed
of representatives
from the most
active international
and national
partners.
ASB
Coordination
Office:
Dr. Tom Tomich
is the Global
Coordinator
of ASB (effective
June 2000).
He is responsible
for ensuring
the scientific
rigour of ASB
studies; gathering
and compiling
the ASB data
and research
results; coordinating
the flow of
information
among consortium
members; compiling
and submitting
research and
donor reports;
implementing
the decisions
of the GSG regarding
budget allocations
and the work
plans of all
partners; managing
the sub-contracts
for consortium
members; and
compiling and
submitting funding
proposals. He
is assisted
by Jessa Lewis,

Joyce Kasyoki,
ASB Administrative
Assistant.
Indonesia:
Two of the
principal
ICRAF scientists,
