2. Latin America - Resided four years in Colombia and spent considerable time in the Eastern Plains gaining experience in relating natural resources to rural development. Resided in Chile two years and had opportunity to become acquainted with soil science activities in all Latin American countries. Visiting Professor at the University of Puerto Rico.
3. Asia - Travel in various countries with time spent in the Terai of Nepal in preparation for resettlement of the plains area; field studies in the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand. Two visits to the Academia Sinica Soils Institute in the People's Republic of China.Near East: Co-Principal Investigator of the Soil Survey Project of the Yemen Arab Republic under AID/Cornell contract.
