Prerequisites:
Introductory course in crop and/or soil science (e.g. SCAS 190, 260); ANSC 212 (Animal Nutrition) recommended

Required

  • Forages Volume I: An Introduction to Grassland Agriculture (6th edn.) by Barnes, et al.
  • Cornell Field Crops and Soils Handbook (2nd edn.) by W.J. Cox et al. (available in laboratory)

Grading:

  • 25% on laboratory (based on quizzes, problem sets and a final practical exam).
  • 75% on written exams (Monday, February 27; Wednesday, April 5; Friday, May 6; and the final exam. Exam dates are subject to change.
  • The written exam score will be the average of the three highest grades achieved on the four exams, i.e., one exam grade can be dropped. If all three prelims are taken, the student has the option of not taking the final exam. No makeup exams will be given for prelims, and the final exam is comprehensive.
