COURSE OBJECTIVES
- To learn the fundamental principles and facts about forage
crops as agricultural resources in terms of their
- a) nutritional value as livestock feed,
- b) utilization as hay, silage, and pasture,
- c) growth and development,
- d) maintenance of production,
- e) establishment,
- f) and the integration of these topics to provide
understanding of how sustained yields of high quality forage
are attained.
- To acquire a basis for appreciation and wise utilization of
forage crops as biological and ecological resources for the
conservation of the environment and the production of biofuels.
